Uncle Billy's Retreat..... Stephens Favourite... ( Fisherman's Heaven) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
If you were to ask me where heaven can be found on earth, I would not hesitate in saying Uncle Billy's Retreat, this rustic "off the grid", gem is located at Ben Lomond west of Guyra. As they sang in the theme to "Gilligans Island" " - no Phone, no lights no motor cars ...not a single luxury....like Robinson Car..Uso, it's primItive as can be." Well I can't sing the song but I can sing the praises of this unique resort, I have had the pleasure of staying there and fishing the 15 acre lake a number of times, and I've got to tell you this is champagne fishing at it's best. The accommodation I would describe as backwoods luxury, the surroundings and lake are sublime. This is the real deal, and hosts Bill and Sue are New England gems. Take my advice look at the website and see for your self what the best of New England can offer....especially if you love fishing. Stephen
